Kano State declares a public holiday for the Islamic New Year 1446 AH, urging citizens to reflect, engage in community service, and pray for peace and progress.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Kano State Government has announced that Monday will be observed as a public holiday to celebrate the beginning of the new Islamic calendar year 1446 AH.
This declaration was made in a statement released on Friday by the state Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye.
In the statement, Governor Yusuf Abba encouraged the people of Kano to use this holiday as a time for reflection on the past year and to engage in activities that benefit the community. He highlighted the importance of both community and individual efforts in overcoming the challenges faced during these difficult times.
Governor Abba reassured the public of the government’s dedication to implementing and supporting policies aimed at empowering citizens to become self-sufficient. “The state government will continue to introduce and support programs that empower our people,” he stated.
He also urged the Muslim community to intensify their prayers for continued peace and progress in the state and across the nation. Governor Abba emphasized that collective effort and prayer are essential in achieving the state’s developmental goals.
