Provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Noforija, Epe, Associate Professor Nosiru Onibon, has hailed the exceptional performance of some students of the college who performed during the grand finale of the 2021 Kayokayo festival in Epe.

The commendation came on the heels of the recently staged drama tagged, “Kosoko: A Divine Voyager,” at the Lagos Theatre Epe, to mark the Grand Finale of Epe Kayo-Kayo 2021 celebrations.

Speaking in an interview with Eko Hot Blog, Onibon, who noted that the performance wasn’t without a few bloopers characteristic of any live performance, lauded the students for a superlative and theatrically aesthetic re-enactment of the Melodrama, one which elicited a standing ovation from the dignitaries who made up the viewing audience.

Onibon further implored the students to keep their heads high while also stating that the College of education is established for the development of the vast untapped creative talents in young people.

“I felt naturally happy as the head of the institution whose students translated important historic events to cultural display to the admiration of all, even with its perceived imperfection. The Theatre facility would no doubt complement our efforts as an institution of learning in breeding professional talents and I must commend the Lagos State Government for erecting this world-class edifice in Epe.”

“My message to the performers is to remain focused and resilient. To the other talents, I like to encourage them to use the MOCPED platform in this stead to showcase and improve on their talents,” he stated.

The play, which chronicled the travails of King Kosoko’s exit from Lagos to Epe was scripted by Impact Performance Alliance (IPA) with a production crew which consisted of a seasoned Drama and Theatre professional from the Cultural and Creative Arts (CCA) Department, School of Arts and Social Sciences, MOCPED, Mr Jamal Apena with support from Bayo Adebiyi (Choreographer) and Kaka Babatunde (Stage Manager).
