KEDCO Promises To Fix Faulty Transformers, Cautions Residents Not To Pay
The management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), has warned customers against contributing money for repairing faulty transformers. expressing its commitment to fix it with other, electrical equipment.
KEDCO’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, yesterday, said that the Company frowned at the criminal activities of unscrupulous community leaders who extort money from unsuspecting customers whom they coax into contributing money for replacement of faulty KEDCO facilities.
It further stated that, “Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) had advised its numerous customers to desist from contributing money to pay for the repairs of transformers or buy other electrical equipment.

“The management states that it is the responsibility of KEDCO to fix any and all faulty transformers.
“We are up to the task and we are not and will not cede our responsibility in that regard to our customers.
“We have world class engineers who are constantly being trained to address such issues and KEDCO has overtime purchased hundreds of transformers for various communities that have lodged complaints and we are poised to strengthening such commitment, hence there is no need for individual or communal contributions to do what we know how to do best and is our job.
“We are calling on all our numerous customers to always report faulty transformers and other electrical equipment to our various Customer Service Points for prompt action, as it has been our culture to speedily respond to such issues in view of the high regard we have for the satisfaction of our customers.
