Kenya: 'I'm Fully in Charge' Ruto Says

President William Ruto has reaffirmed his control over his administration, stating that the challenges faced are not setbacks but valuable lessons.

Eko Hot Blog gathered that he promised to be a more effective leader, drawing from these experiences.

Speaking in Nyandarua County during his first church service since the anti-government protests began, President Ruto said, “I am fully in charge, I am stronger, I assure Kenyans that I will have a very effective cabinet to serve Kenyans, I will have a government of national unity, pray for me, my government is committed to moving Kenya forward.”

The Sunday service took place near Ndururi Primary School, where the President recently encountered protesting Gen Zs and had to be escorted away by his security team.

During the service, President Ruto pledged to fund the completion of the Ndogino AIPCA church.

He acknowledged that the ban on harambees would impact church projects but assured that the law would undergo public participation for Kenyans to provide their views on how leaders should continue to support these initiatives.

“I am instructing my Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the church leadership to see how much is needed to complete the church so that I can write a cheque,” Ruto said.

Additionally, President Ruto warned police and Interior Ministry officials against permitting the sale of poisonous alcoholic drinks, emphasizing that administrators in areas where the drug trade flourishes would be held personally accountable.

Speaking at Ndogino AIPCA Church, he mentioned deliberate changes made in the National Police Service to ensure efficiency and prioritize the fight against alcoholism.

Addressing the historical confusion over Nyandarua’s regional affiliation with Central or the Rift Valley, President Ruto assured that all development projects initiated by his administration in Nyandarua would be completed.

He announced that four markets costing Sh200 million would be finished by next year.
