A wanted kidnap kingpin who kidnapped his own father and made him pay a sum ₦4 million as ransom has been neutralised in Kogi State.
Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Adejoh Friday Nicodemus, who confirmed this while briefing journalists on Sunday, said the kidnap kingpin, whose name was withheld, was killed yesterday in a gun duel with security operatives.
It was gathered that the deceased criminal was known for his numerous ventures in kidnapping and armed robbery in the area.

He said a combined security operation in the local government also led to the arrest of another notorious criminal identified as Kizito Ocheme, alias Igbo, known for terrorizing the local government and Otukpo branch of Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Nichodemus noted that the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello and his government to guarantee the safety of lives and properties of citizens was yielding good results as criminals now find Kogi as a no-go area.
