According to reports, the priest was kidnapped by suspected herdsmen in his farm along the Isele-Uku/Issele-Mkpetime Road in the Aniocha North Local Government Area of the Delta state.
A source disclosed that Fr. Onyebadi was freed by his abductors around 7:30pm on Tuesday.

He stated, “He was released on Tuesday evening and was immediately rushed to the hospital in Asaba for treatment.”
The source, however, could not confirm if any ransom was paid to secure his release.
When contacted, police spokesperson in the state, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the released of the priest.
