Kidnappers Disguised As DSS Officials Arrested In Imo

The Imo State Police Command has arrested kidnappers in Apani Community Ikwerre LGA of Rivers state.

The suspects whose names were given as Kingsley Ogugwo and Ibrahim Mohammed were alleged to have kidnapped one Musa Inusa at Umuapu Ohaji/Egbema.

It was gathered that the victim was intercepted by the kidnappers who disguised as personnel of the State Security Service while he was travelling from Rivers State to Imo state.

SARS Operatives at Ohaji Annex recovered an oxblood Toyota Camry with Reg. No. FST371EC and the sum of N37,500 belonging to the victim.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects were an improvised black stick which served as a riffle gun and the victim’s Infinix phone.

In a related development, the state police command last weekend arrested a notorious armed robber, Chukwuemeka Nnane popularly known as ‘No Stain’

Chukwuemwka, 31 according to reports, belongs to a notorious gang known as ‘Ebuka Ukachukwu or Small Witch Gang’ earlier declared wanted by the police.

The Imo state Police Public Relation Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu said the suspects have confessed to their crime and would soon be charged to court pending completion of investigations.

Meanwhile, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Isaac O. Akinmoyede, while briefing journalists in Owerri, assured of a more robust security operation in the state, advising criminals to turn new leaves of rot in jail.
