EKO HOT BLOG reports that the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas has stated abductors of two of their colleagues, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, did after they were informed of the amount contributed for their ransom so far.
The abductors demanded $100,000 ransom for the movie stars kidnapped on their way back from a movie location on Friday in Enugu State.
Rollas said the abductors laughed and mocked them after revealing they had only raised N1.2million for the ransom.
According to him, they asked why the other celebrities busy posting them on their Instagram pages hadn’t contributed.
“Good morning esteemed colleagues. This is to brief you about the happenings over five days now concerning our two colleagues who were abducted few days back”, he said.
“The situation still remains the same but we are believing God to do His miracle and do wonders at this point in time.
“Yesterday, while talking to the abductors, we were trying to explain to them that we were putting some funds together; we were contributing.
“And we said we had about N1.2million and they started laughing at us. They started mocking us and said, “All those your celebrities posting us on Instagram, why haven’t they contributed?
Upon the abductors’ reaction, Rollas noted: “And immediately, it got to me that these people are watching us. So, it’s not the best time for us to begin to circulate this information on Instagram.
“Therefore, we have dedicated an account, the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State chapter account, Zenith Bank for us to make little contributions.’’
He further appealed to all actors to contribute to the cause and prayed such never befell anyone again.
“I urge all of us to see to it that we make contributions because we do not know who will be in this kind of situation again. But we pray to God that none of us will have this kind of experience.
I want to thank all of you for the calls, advice, contributions; showing that it’s our own problem. Thank you and God bless you,” he added
