Ekohotblog reports that a shrine suspected to be used by kidnappers and ritualists has been uncovered in the Ketu Ereyun area of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.

The discovery, made by security operatives on Monday, December 16, 2024, prompted an immediate inspection by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, alongside his committee members and law enforcement agents.

The site contained a variety of fetish items believed to be linked to ritual practices. Addressing the situation, Hon. Anomo emphasized the importance of community vigilance, particularly as the festive season approaches.

“This alarming discovery underscores the ongoing security challenges in our community. I urge all residents to remain watchful and to report any unusual activities to the authorities without delay,” he stated.

Ketu Ereyun has long been associated with security concerns. Notably, it was the scene of the 2019 abduction of Lagos State’s then-acting Fire Service Director, Mr. Rasaki Musibau.

Hon. Anomo called for strengthened cooperation between residents and security agencies to ensure a safer environment. “Tackling insecurity requires collective efforts. By working closely with law enforcement, we can safeguard lives and properties in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA,” he said.
