Kogi 2023: Over 200 PDP Leaders, Former Speaker, LG Vice Chairmen, Defect To APC

Eko Hot Blog reports that the former vice chairmen of Kogi local governments, party executives, and more than 200 PDP members from Okene Local Government Area and Rt Hon Momo jimoh Lawal, the former speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, announced their defection to the APC on Wednesday.

Numerous opposition stakeholders who publicly announced their defection during a visit to Governor Yahaya Bello in Lokoja said they fully supported Usman Ododo, the APC candidate, in the next governorship election on November 11.

Momo jimoh particularly stated that the PDP stakeholders will support the APC candidate through vigorous mobilisation efforts across not only the Kogi Central Senatorial District but also the entire state, while acknowledging the governor’s outstanding efforts to advance the state’s infrastructure.

“On behalf of my political associates and supporters, I unequivocally pledge our steadfast support for the candidacy of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) and Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu (JOS) for Governor and Deputy Governor, respectively.

“We reaffirm our comprehensive dedication to future endeavours, including extensive mobilisation efforts spanning the Kogi Central Senatorial District and Kogi State at large. With trust in you and the other esteemed stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, as we move forward, we hereby formally announce our membership of the party as of today.”, he declared

While welcoming the stakeholders, Yahaya Bello praised them for their brave choice to join the opposition party and their eagerness to make a significant contribution to the development of the state.
