EKO HOT BLOG reports the people of Kogi East Senatorial District in Anyigba, turned out in large numbers to express their unwavering support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Usman Ododo, pledging to bolster the state’s unity by delivering a resounding victory for the APC in the upcoming November 11 governorship election.
Notably, Igala residents, including influential figures from the Social Democratic Party, Peoples Democratic Party, African Democratic Congress, publicly switched their allegiance to the ruling APC during the Kogi East Senatorial District Rally. This impressive turnout was deemed unprecedented in the region’s electoral history.
They committed to securing a substantial victory for the APC in order to sustain what they saw as Governor Yahaya Bello’s impartial and goal-oriented leadership that had fostered unity and genuine progress throughout the state, devoid of any ethnic biases.
Shaibu Abubakar Audu, the Director General of Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Council and Minister of Steel Development, emphasized the APC’s exclusive focus on the “Kogi Agenda” and the candidate’s intent to build upon Governor Yahaya Bello’s commendable legacy.
Abdullahi Bello, the Chairman of APC in Kogi State, commended the overwhelming participation and enthusiasm exhibited by Kogi East residents, urging them to maintain the momentum for a sweeping victory in the governorship election.
Senator Jibrin Echocho, representing Kogi East in the National Assembly, called upon those who had not yet joined the APC to do so, emphasizing the significance of party structures in winning elections.
Governor Yahaya Bello stressed the importance of putting aside tribal politics, highlighting the achievements that had bridged ethnic divides and promoted fairness, equity, and justice throughout the state.
Usman Ododo, the APC Governorship Candidate, expressed his commitment to the people, progress, and unity of the state, acknowledging Governor Bello’s accomplishments and vowing to build upon them.
The rally featured the official reception of defectors from the PDP, SDP, and other political parties into the APC, with gratitude expressed towards President Tinubu for his leadership and dedication to Kogi State’s growth and development.
