Kogi Monarch Abducted Inside Mosque
The residents of Ankpa local government area of Kogi state have been thrown into palpable apprehension following the kidnapping of their revered monarch, Shuaibu Usman, acting Eje of kidnapped.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Usman was abducted while entering a mosque to observe prayers around 5:30am on Friday.
Ayuba Ede, the state commissioner of police, who confirming the incident, said the suspected kidnappers waylaid the monarch on the road that led to the mosque before the abduction.
Ede said they are yet to make any contact with the family, but added that the police have blocked all entry and exit points in the state as part of efforts to rescuing the traditional ruler.
Speaking on the incident, Kingsley Fanwo, the state commissioner for information, said efforts are on to ensure that the traditional ruler is rescued safely.
He allayed the fears of the people saying the government was on top of the situation.
He added that strong measures had been put in place by the state government to ensure the safety and security of the residents during the yuletide period.

“The state government is working with security agencies to ensure his release,” Fanwo said.
“The Kogi state government has also put machinery in motion to ensure even more stringent security network during this yuletide.
“The people of Ankpa should remain calm as government is on top of the situation. We remain committed to security of lives and property.”
