As part of democratic norms, sixteen of the gubernatorial candidates in the Saturday governorship poll in Kogi State have accepted the outcome of the election.
The candidates also sent their congratulatory messages to the winner of the governorship poll, the incumbent Governor, Yahaya Bello.
The coalition of 16 candidates led by Dr Sani Teidi, disclosed this during a press conference in Lokoja on Monday shortly after the announcement of the winner of the election.
It could be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had declared the incumbent Governor, Yahaya Bello the winner of the gubernatorial poll held on Saturday.
Teidi said “We congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the overwhelming victory at the poll and all those who participated in the election.
”We appeal to the winner to be magnanimous in victory and prepare to mend fences for all-inclusive governance.
“We are also appealing to all Kogi stakeholders to accept the winner for participatory governance.”
