The Independent National Electoral Commission has lammented various court injunctions stressing that it slows down the commission’s operations in conducting a credible poll.
INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Voter Education and Publicity, Festus Okoye, disclosed this during a media interactive session in Lokoja the Kogi state capital on Wednesday.
Okoye noted that the commission though obliged to obey all court orders was concerned about the various court injunctions as it has become a source of slowing down the pace of its operations ahead of the elections.
He said “For instance when a court gives an order 48 hours to an election, which must be obeyed, it means the commission will have to put in extra effort to meet the deadline.”
