These all stems from the backlash over the Naira redesign.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed shock over the recent backlash by some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors against President Muhammadu Buhari over the Naira redesign policy.
The NNPP presidential candidate was surprised to see APC chieftains knocking the Nigerian leader for siding with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to change some of the country’s currency notes to address issues like vote buying and money laundering.

Some APC governors had dragged the federal government, the CBN, and the Attorney General of the Federation to court over the new naira redesign policy.
Kwankwaso noted that the state leaders reacted negatively because the policy eventually rendered their looted funds useless. He stated that the policy made that looted money completely useless, and that was why they were angry.
Kwankwaso appealed to security and anti-graft agencies to keep their eyes on politicians to stop vote buying in any form in the 2023 general elections. He also assured that his party would assist the federal government on election day to monitor and report vote buyers.
Meanwhile, former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has questioned why the Federal Government is silent over the continuous disobedience of the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on the Naira redesign policy.
The governor directed its Ministries, Departments, and Agencies not to reject old naira notes, insisting on old N500 and N1000 being legal tender in the state. El-Rufai’s directive is in line with the subsisting order of the Supreme Court on the naira notes.
Omokri wondered why Nigeria is not moving against El-Rufai for treason, pointing out that Ojukwu did not do half of what El-Rufai has done before General Gowon’s Military Government moved against him.

“Did Ojukwu do up to what El-Rufai had done before General Gowon’s Military Government moved against him?
“Ojukwu didn’t issue the Biafran Pound until January 29, 1968. Yet, Nigeria moved against him. Why is Nigeria my country not moving against El-Rufai for treason?”
