During the flag-off ceremony for the third disbursement exercise, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who is also the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, emphasized the importance of such interventions in easing hardship and reducing hunger and poverty in the country.

Represented by the Chairman of the State Fadama Technical Committee and Permanent Secretary of the Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Ishiaq Oloruko-Oba, the governor stated, “The interventions by Kwara Fadama CARES were tailored towards easing hardship in the country, noting that such will go a long to reduce hunger and poverty.”

Governor AbdulRazaq, however, warned the beneficiaries against commercializing the asset items, stating, “If the items are used effectively, the expected impact will be felt in society.” He also assured that the distributed items would be monitored to ensure judicious use.

One of the beneficiaries, Jamiu Ahmed of the Ogo Oluwa Farmers’ User Group from Ilorin West Local Government Area, expressed gratitude to the governor for the timely intervention. “I thank the governor for the timely intervention, promising that the farmers would not abuse the opportunity to make the people feel the impact of the initiative,” Ahmed said.
