Olayinka Micheal Fafoluyi, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, has earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ).
Eko Hot Blog reports that the governor’s aide, who was recently unveiled as advocate of the University of Ilorin graduated with Upper Credit in the NIJ post graduate diploma programme.
In addition to his post graduate diploma, Fafoluyi has also earned a certificate in Fundamental Skills in Digital Marketing from Google, showcasing his commitment to keeping abreast with the latest media trends and technologies.
Speaking on the modest feat in Ilorin on Tuesday, Fafoluyi said the academic attainment was aimed at advancing his knowledge and expertise in the field of journalism and communication.
Fafoluyi, who noted that the Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the NIJ has equipped him with advanced skills in news reporting, media ethics, and communication strategies, added that it has further solidified his role as a key player in the media industry.
He added: “My modest academic success is a reflection of my relentless pursuit of knowledge and commitment to upholding the highest standards of journalistic integrity, and I thank God that my educational achievements are complemented by my extensive professional experience.”
Prior to his appointment to serve in Governor Abdulrasaq’s government, the Fafoluyi had established a reputable career in digital marketing and public relations, working with media and agricultural companies.
He said: “This combination of academic prowess and practical experience has enabled me to effectively bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
“So, my ongoing pursuit of professional development highlights my dedication and commitment to continuous learning and career growth, towards ensuring that I remain at the forefront of industry advancements.”
Fafoluyi was appointed as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor AbdulRahman in 2019.
He was reappointed and promoted to Senior Special Adviser in the same portfolio in 2023 following the Governor’s second term victory at the 2023 Governorship Election.
