  • Kwara State House of Assembly has today passed Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2021 into law.

The Executive Bill was passed after considering the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation led by Hon. Ambali Olatunji Ibraheem (Owode/Onire Constituency), EkoHotBlog reports.

While debating on the Revised Budget Estimate, Deputy Speaker, Adetiba Raphael (Oke-Ero) Constituency justified the increase in this year’s Supplementary Budget from N137, 684, 915, 550 billion to N168, 962, 333, 086 billion due to the revenue shortfall, occasioned by the global effects of COVID-19 pandemic.

The Supplementary Appropriation Bill was read for the third time by the Deputy Clerk of the House, Kareem Olayiwola before it’s final passage after thorough debate on the General Principles of the Bill at the ‘Committee of Whole’

Speaker, Engineer Yakubu Danladi therefore directed the Clerk of House to prepare a clean copy of the bill for governor’s assent.

Holistic Infos reports that a minute silence was observed by the parliamentarians in honour of late Alhaji Saliu Kperogi, husband of House Clerk, Hajia Halimat Jummai Kperogi, who died last Friday.
