Kwara PDP Ward Congress Holds Tomorrow Despite Threats From Some Members

  • Despite threats from Ilorin-West Chairman of the party threats to drag the leadership of the party to court if the congress hold, Ashaolu says congress will hold tomorrow.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State will tomorrow, 24 September, 2021 hold ward congress across the 193 wards in the State.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Tunde Ashaolu who made the announcement in a statement on Friday, urged party faithful to go out en masse to participate in the exercise to elect party officers at the ward levels.

“It is expected that as it is the usual practice in the PDP, party members will conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner and eschew any form of violence,” he added.

While expressing optimism that the congress would be hitch-free, Ashaolu assured that the party’s internal mechanism would be deployed to resolve whatever issue that arises from the exercise.

The Kwara PDP Publicity Secretary also encouraged existing and intending members of the party to use the opportunity of the congress to complete their online membership registration that is currently ongoing across the 193 wards.
