Dr. Yaqub, a lecturer at Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, passed away in his sleep on Monday morning, leaving his family members, colleagues, and friends in deep sorrow.

Dr. Yaqub was serving as the Acting Director of Sports and the Head of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education at KWASU at the time of his death. He was a renowned scholar and a mentor to many students and young academics in the state.

The news of his passing has sent shockwaves throughout the academic community in Kwara State, with many expressing their condolences and paying tribute to his legacy. Speaking about his untimely death, the Vice-Chancellor of KWASU, Professor Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi, described Dr. Yaqub as a “dedicated and hardworking member of staff who had a passion for his work and was always willing to help others.”

According to reports, Dr. Yaqub passed away at his Ilorin apartment in the early hours of Monday. His family members, colleagues, and friends have been left reeling from the shock of his sudden demise.
