Eko Hot Blog reports that 26-year-old Rukayat Motunrayo Shittu has been declared winner of House of Assembly election for Owode/Onire State Constituency under the umbrella of the ruling All Progressive Congress Party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Shittu as the winner in Ilorin, the state’s capital.

The House of Assembly and Gubernatorial elections were held on Saturday across the state

Rukayat polled 7521 to defeat her major opponent, PDP Abdullah Magaji who polled 6957.

It was rumored that the some members of the party were against her candidacy and almost cost her said candidacy.
