Real Madrid had temporarily drawn level with Barcelona after defeating Villarreal on Saturday, but the Catalan giants cruised to a comfortable win at Alaves’ Mendizorroza Stadium, continuing their strong form under new head coach Hansi Flick.
“I get a lot of good passes and so it’s easier for me to score goals,” Lewandowski told DAZN.
“Today in the first half we played well from the first minute, we wanted to attack and score goals.
“If you score three goals in the first half then in the second you can play with everything under control.”
Sivera made a fine save to thwart Ansu Fati, who had replaced an unusually quiet Lamine Yamal.
Alaves had another goal disallowed when Santiago Mourino headed home a free-kick, but he had strayed offside — the hosts were flagged off 11 times in the match, largely thanks to Barca’s high defensive line.

“They were better than us in the first half, although we had a couple of chances… in the second half we improved and we tried until the end,” Alaves winger Abde Rebbach told DAZN.
“We’re known for the effort we put into every match, that’s why we are where we are, and we have to look forward to the next one.”
Later on Sunday, Atletico Madrid visit Real Sociedad and Sevilla host Real Betis in a Seville derby.
