Labour Party Blames Peter Obi, Otti, Datti For Internal Crisis
The Labour Party, led by Julius Abure, has accused prominent figures including Peter Obi, Governor Alex Otti, and Datti Baba-Ahmed of being responsible for the ongoing crisis within the party.
Ayo Olorunfemi, the Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party under Abure, voiced his regret over the actions of these individuals, stating, “It is regrettable that Obi, Otti, Datti, and Nenadi Usman, whom we once accommodated, have now become forces destabilizing the party.”

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Olorunfemi criticized the recent appointment of Nenadi Usman as the National Caretaker Chair, declaring, “The stakeholders’ meeting that appointed Nenadi is illegal because she is not a registered member of the party in her ward.”
He elaborated, “We checked the party register and found that Nenadi Usman’s name is not listed in her ward, nor has she contributed to the party at the ward or state level.”
In an interview with Arise TV on Thursday, Olorunfemi challenged the legitimacy of the Abia State stakeholders’ meeting, asserting,
“No leader of the party was present at that meeting. The assumption that the Labour Party would be nothing without Peter Obi is an overestimation.
Leadership is earned through activities within the party, not through self-importance.”
He refuted claims that Governor Alex Otti had the authority to convene party meetings, emphasizing, “There is no provision for stakeholder meetings in the party’s constitution. The people behind this meeting are the ones fueling the crisis.”
Olorunfemi also dismissed allegations that the Labour Party under Abure failed to support elected officials, stating, “In Ondo State, we have duly elected executives at the ward, local government, and state levels. There is no leadership vacuum in the party.”
