It was gathered that the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party ordered the postponement.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Labour Party has rescheduled its ward and gubernatorial primaries, which were originally scheduled to take place from April 11th to 13th, 2023.
The party did not provide a reason for the postponement but has announced that the elections will now be held from April 13th to 15th, 2023.

In a statement released by Nneka Igwe Onwudiwe, Secretary of the State Labour Party Management Committee, it was revealed that the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party ordered the postponement.
The statement said, “I am directed to inform our party members and the general public that National Executive Council (NEC) of our great Party has postponed the Ward Congress and Gubernatorial Primary Election earlier scheduled to hold on 11th and 13 April, 2023 respectively to 13th and 15th April, 2023 respectively.”
