EKO HOT BLOG reports that organized labour on Wednesday, abandoned a meeting of the tripartite committee on the new minimum wage, citing a ‘ridiculous offer’ from the federal government and the Organized Private Sector (OPS).

Sources quoted by Vanguard revealed that the government proposed ₦48,000, while the OPS suggested ₦54,000 as the new minimum wage. Additionally, the government failed to provide any data to support its proposed figures.
This online media platform reports that after the zonal hearings on the new minimum wage, the organized labour had adopted ₦615,000 as the proposed new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
