Lagos, Abuja Airports To Resume Domestic Flight July 8

The minister for aviation, Hadi Sirika on Wednesday, announced that domestic flight in Lagos and Abuja airports would resume on July 8, 2020.

Sirika who made this announcement via his official Twitter page, said while operations would resume at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikwe Airport in Abuja on July 8, other airports would also resume their operations subsequently.

The Minister added that the date for the resumption of international flight would be announced when the time was right, urging it users to stay patient and positive.

“I am glad to announce that Abuja & Lagos airports will resume domestic operations on the 8th of July, 2020. Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri & Maiduguri to resume on the 11th. Other airports on the 15th. The date for international to be announced in due course. Bear with us,” he wrote.

Ekohotblog reported on Monday that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN in a tweet announced that operations in the airports would resume soon.

“We will open soon, please bear with us.

“We know you are eager to fly just as we are eager to open our doors for you but we need to do it safely.

“We are putting all measures in place to keep you safe when you fly. pls bear with us,” FAAN twitted.

Ekohotblog recalls that the Presidential Task Force for COVID-19 had stopped the operation of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria from allowing any flight in and out of the country as part of the measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
