Lagos AIDS Control Agency Seeks Community Participation In Ending Further Transmission By 2030
The Executive Officer of the Lagos state AIDS control agency (LSACA) Dr Monsurat Adeleke has asked for the community involvement on the issues of infectious diseases like HIV and AIDS.
Dr. Adeleke said it is now obvious that a person with HIV can be sometimes free of the symptoms for quite some time while infecting innocent others of not checked and treated simultaneously. She made this know to communities at the palace of the monarch of Ikate kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, kusenla III, in ikate, Eti-osa Local Government that UNIAIDS global must be achieved to curtail further spread of this infections by 2030.

She noted that lagosians would now have free access to HIV Testing Services(HTS) to their their status and also encourage them that being HIV positive does not mean the end of life when medications are being used promptly. She said the HTS center will help tale appropriate steps to prevent transmission to other people and also to make sure that infected people lives longer.
On the king’s part, he assured that as the HIV ambassador, he has been encouraging members and other residents of Eti-osa local government to visit the HTS center built by the Lagos state government to know their HIV status and as well get treated if positive.
