Lagos Announces Weeklong Test Run Of New Redline Rail Route

Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos commuters are on the verge of experiencing a significant transportation milestone as the Redline Rail embarks on a week-long test run.

Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, revealed the eagerly anticipated trial phase, signaling the imminent launch of the rail service from Agbado to Iddo.

Omotoso made the revelation at a press briefing on Thursday, organized to kick off the 2024 Ministerial Press Briefing by the State’s Ministries, Directorates, and Agencies.

The annual program allows members of the State Executive Council to report on their stewardship to Lagosians.

During the week-long test run, various groups and stakeholders will be invited to ride the train and experience the service it will provide.

Omotoso also highlighted plans to address connecting roads to rail and ferry terminals to facilitate easy access.

He also revealed that foreign investors will arrive next week to discuss the Fourth Mainland Bridge and the Lekki Airport, which are set to change Lagos’ economy.
