Lagos Announces Road Closure, Gives Final Update For City Marathon

Due to the Lagos City Marathon scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2020. The Lagos State government has announced road closures / diversions at the following locations from 0630hrs through to 1330hrs.

The marathon starting point will be at Western Avenue, in front of the National Stadium Surulere and finish at the Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island. The Third Mainland Bridge , Osborne road, Parkview and Lekki/Ikoyi link bridge will be closed. While Falomo roundabout inwards Bourdillion will be temporary closed and Akin Adesola street inwards Bar Beach will also be temporarily closed to traffic. Also, road access from Bonny Camp to Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, will be diverted through Old Mr. Biggs junction to Kofo Abayomi Street.

Considering the event is scheduled for a Saturday, commercial establishments such as supermarkets and restaurants would remain open for business, however, traffic delays should be anticipated.

Relatedly, onlookers along marathon route may be exposed to pick pocketing events, as such all personnel are advised to avoid crowded areas and plan their movements.
