Lagos APC Chieftain, Chief Olayemi, Is Dead
A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Alhaji Chief G.A Olayemi, has passed away.
The Epe born politician died on Saturday, January 9, at the age of 88, a statement by Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairman, Hon. Adeniyi Saliu disclosed.
The late octogenarian, who was the pioneer Chairman of Eredo LCDA and Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government, was laid to rest at 2pm yesterday according to Islamic rites.
Saliu described the former Ward J1 Apex leader as a father to all, and someone who spent his life advancing the cause of humanity.
“This is to announce the passage of Alhaji G.A Olayemi, the pioneer Chairman of Eredo LCDA, former Director-General, TESCOM and former Councillor/Vice-Chairman, Epe Local Government.
“Chief Olayemi was the Apex Leader of Ward J1, a father to all and a good man who lived a life of service to his community, the Local Government and the State. May Almighty Allah grant him Al-Jannah “, the statement read.
Party stalwart pays tributes and condolences to the political juggernaut
The Member representing Epe Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Dahunsi Sylvester Ogunkelu (SKETEL) has described the demise of the staunch APC party man as a rude shock and an irreplaceable loss.
He, however, extended his condolences to the good people of Eredo LCDA, Epe, Ikosi-Ejinrin, Lagos State, the APC family, the entire members of Olayemi and Ogunsanwo and all Ibonwon descendants over his demise. According to him, the absence of the former TESCOM Director-General and great patriarch would be felt by all.
” I received with a rude shock, the passing away of our father, political and community leader, Chief Abdulganiu Abiodun Olayemi, who was at a time the Director-General of TESCOM, Lagos state, the Pioneer executive Chairman, Eredo LCDA and a prominent Apex Leader of APC in the LCDA.
“I wholeheartedly sympathize with the good people of Eredo, Epe, Ikosi-Ejinrin, Lagos State, the APC family, the entire members of Olayemi and Ogunsanwo families and all Ibonwon descendants on the death of baba, most particularly when his absence would be more felt. May Almighty Allah give us the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss and reward him with Aljanat fridaous, Amin “, the statement read.
