The Peace and Reconciliation Committees constituted by the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been told to submit their report by July 12th.
This was disclosed by the Chairman, State Caretaker Committee, Alhaji Tunde Balogun while inaugurating the reconciliation committees at the party’s secretariat in Ikeja on Friday.
In his address, the chairman said he was confident that the pedigree of the members of the committees who possess vast experience in party administration and government, would sagaciously mediate on recent bouts of acrimony within the party.
He entreated the committees to meticulously diagnose the emerging issues between its members and consequently proffer viable solutions in order to ensure harmonious relations as the party heads towards the main event of the July 24 elections.
Balogun noted that the primary mandate of the committees include; to determine the causes the rift and rancour that ensued in the wake of the local government primary elections, among others.
The committees have been mandated to meet with aggrieved aspirants and arbitrate on the issues that has led to the infighting within the party.
The committees are to remain impartial and hear from all sides before ultimately making a measured submission to the party’s hierarchy.
Balogun added that the committee had been split into four to ease the burden of the job and make it feasible for the committees to tender their submissions on the stipulated deadline.
In Lagos West Senatorial District 1, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, a former Deputy Governor of Lagos State was inuagurated as Chairman while the state deputy chairman, Chief Sunny Ajose will serve the deputy. Other members of the committee are Mr. Lekan Ogunbanwo, Mr. Sunny Adeeko, Mr. Segun Agbaje, Hon. Wale Raji, Mr. Tunde Isiaq and Mr. Bayo Erikitola. Their meeting venue is Ikeja local government.
Lagos West Senatorial District 2 will be chaired by Senator Anthony Adefuye while Asipa Kaoli Olusanya will serve as deputy. Members are Mr. Kolade Alabi, Hon. Jimi Benson, Mr. Orekoya, Hon. Wole Diya and Chief Wale Mogaji. The committee will meet at Ojo local government.
Lagos East Senatorial District is chaired by Prince Tajudeen Olusi, to be deputized by Hon. Hakeem Bamgbala. Other members are Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King, Chief Abayomi Daramola, Ms. Omolara Vaughan, Mr. Jude Adams, Hon. Ademola Shabi and Hon. Wale Oshun. The committee is to sit at Bariga Local Council Developmen Area (LCDA).
