Lagos Assembly Lifts Surulere Council Chairman Suspension
- Lagos state house of assembly has lifted the suspension of Surulere Council Chairman.
Lagos State House of Assembly has lifted the suspension of the council chairman of Surulere Local Government, Mr. Tajudeen Ajide, saying that he can resume his official duties.
The decision was reached by the House on Tuesday during plenary session when the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa read before the House the apology letter written by the Council Chairman.
Ajide was suspended on Tuesday, May 4, alongside two other council chairmen namely Ogidan Mukandasi Olaitan of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Suleiman Jelili of Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA)
The three council chairmen we’re suspended for alleged disregard for the guidelines governing their activities.
The House, at the May 4 plenary, said it can no longer continue to watch while the council chairmen stubbornly flout the state’s local government guidelines.
Their suspension was unanimously approved by members of the House in a voice vote with no opposition shortly after Hon. Bisi Yusuff (Alimosho 1) raised a complaint against Olaitan.
However, Ajide in his letter of apology to the House, promised to abide by the resolutions of House.
