Lagos Assembly Sends Anti-Open Grazing Bill To Governor For Assent
- The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday passed the bill prohibiting open grazing of cattle in Lagos state.
Recall that the bill had earlier gone through its public hearing stage on Wednesday before its eventual passage by the lawmakers.
EkohotBlog reports that the House Committee on Agriculture and its recommendations, according to a statement, was on Thursday adopted as the resolutions of the House, leading to its third reading.
The bill was subsequently passed by lawmakers during the plenary.

The House statement reads “Thereafter, the Speaker of the House, Dr. Mudashiru Obasa, directed the acting Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko, to forward a clean copy of the bill to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his assent.”
The House also received the request by Sanwo-Olu to amend and re-order the Appropriation Law, 2021.
