Lagos Building Collapse: Sanwo-Olu Reveals Names Of Survivors

  • Governor Sanwo-Olu has revealed the names of survivors of the Lagos building collapse.

 

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has on Wednesday released the names of survivors of the collapsed building in the Ikoyi area of the state.

The governor revealed the names and ages of the survivors while addressing newsmen during his second visit to the site of the collapsed building on Wednesday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu further disclosed that the survivors are undergoing treatment at the Lagos Marina Hospital.

Recall that tragedy struck in the Nigeria’s commercial city on Monday, November 1, 2021, as the 21-storey building, situated along Gerard Road, Ikoyi, collapsed.

The total number of people in the building at the time of the collapse had yet to be ascertained but witnesses had said that dozens may have been trapped.

Meanwhile, the emergency workers at the collapsed building have so far accounted for 31 people – nine alive and 22 dead.

However, Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, stated that six of the nine survivors are currently undergoing treatment while three have been discharged.

Below are the names of the survivors announced by the governor on Wednesday:

  1. Odutan Timileyin, 26-year-old man.
  2. Ahmed Kenleku, 19- year-old man from Cotonou, Benin Republic.
  3. Sunday Monday, a 21-year-old man who suffered a leg fracture.
  4. Adeniran Mayowa, a 37-year-old man who suffered a hip injury.
  5. Shola Bade Nurudeen, 33-years old man, who has a pelvic injury.
  6. Waliu Lateef, 32-year-old.
