Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, held combined prayers for Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and to commemorate the Easter and Ramadan celebrations.
In his remarks, the governor wished all Lagosians a happy celebration as the Christian Lenten season ended. “It is important that we reflect on the sacrifice and love that Jesus Christ showed to mankind through His crucifixion and resurrection,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu expressed his belief that the fasting period has been a worthy journey for all Christian brothers and sisters who have been praying for the strengthening of the state and country. He also acknowledged the coincidence with the 19th day of Ramadan, stating, “So, anything around prayers and supplication is a worthy venture.”
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of all Lagos residents through various intervention programs. “This is also a time to express gratitude for the understanding of our citizens and to work towards economic relief,” he added.
Sanwo-Olu called on Lagosians to embrace peace, moderation, and unity as the state moves forward in these times. “Let’s embrace peace, moderation, and unity as we move forward in these times,” he urged.
As Lagos celebrates the Easter and Ramadan festivities, the Governor’s message emphasizes the importance of reflection, gratitude, and unity among the diverse communities in the state.
