Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Civil Service Commission successfully hosted the second edition of the Commissions’ Summit with the theme “Statutory Commissions/Boards as Catalysts in Repositioning the Public Service in Lagos State.”
The two-day summit aimed to foster collaboration and innovation among the various commissions and boards to enhance the efficiency and professionalism of the state’s public service.
In his keynote address delivered during the summit, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the leadership of the Commissions and Boards, recognizing them as progressive partners in achieving the vision for a Greater Lagos.
The Governor emphasized the crucial role of a robust public service in realizing the THEMES Plus Agenda of his administration.
Represented by the Chairman of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Olubunmi Fabamwo, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence in the members of the Commissions and encouraged them to uphold the culture of excellence for which Lagos is known.
He pledged continued collaboration for the realization of a Greater Lagos.
The Chairman of the House of Assembly Committee on Establishments, Training, Pensions, and Public Service, Hon. Oladele Ajayi, delivered a goodwill message, noting that the summit would contribute to standardizing processes and procedures in the state’s public service.
He urged participants to formulate new policies that would enhance excellence in service delivery.
Mrs. Olubunmi Fabamwo, the Chairman of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, highlighted the success of the maiden edition of the summit and its positive impact on the delivery of services.
She stressed the need for a collaborative effort to reposition the state’s public service for improved service delivery.
The Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission, Mr. Akinbode Obadina, acknowledged Governor Sanwo-Olu’s unwavering support for the Commission’s programs and projects.
He highlighted the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of the workforce within the public service.
The summit witnessed active participation from various Commissions and Boards, including the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Health Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission, Audit Service Commission, Primary Health Care Board, Judicial Service Commission, and the Local Government Service Commission.
The theme of the summit, “Statutory Commissions/Boards as Catalysts in Repositioning the Public Service,” reflects the commitment of the Civil Service Commission to collaboration, innovation, and cooperation for the professionalization of the state’s public service.

Hon. Oladele Ajayi emphasized that the Summit will foster the standardization of processes and procedures in the application of enlightenment guidelines in the State Public Service, adding, “use the opportunity of the Summit to formulate new policies that will reposition the Public Service to enhance excellence in service delivery.”
Chairman, Lagos State Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Olubunmi Fabamwo, recalled that the maiden edition of the Commissions’ Summit was adjudged very successful as very salient issues were frankly deliberated upon, noting that some of the developments that have positively improved the delivery of service in recent times are a result of the submissions made during the last Summit.
