Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), representing Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has assured constituents of imminent progress on the long-awaited completion of the Igbogbo/Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road project

In a bid to address longstanding infrastructure challenges, AMA affirmed the government’s steadfast commitment to finishing the project, initiated nearly eight years ago.

Legislative efforts spearheaded by AMA, who chairs the House Committee on Public Private Partnership (PPP), have been pivotal in advancing the project’s progress.

During a recent inspection visit to the Afa bridge section of the road, AMA and officials from the Ministry of Works & Infrastructures and HiTech identified critical areas for improvement, particularly addressing flooding issues that have hindered road access.

“We are committed to ensuring that the Igbogbo/Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road project moves forward without further interruptions,” AMA stated emphatically.

“The resumption of construction activities signifies a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve connectivity within our constituency.”

The announcement comes amid community concerns over delays in completing vital infrastructure projects, which have adversely affected daily commutes and economic activities in the area.

AMA emphasized the government’s dedication to fulfilling its promises, promising transparency and continued engagement throughout the project’s execution.

Engr. Balogun Abiodun, Chairman of the Lade Community Development Association (CDA) in Igbe Laara, echoed AMA’s sentiments, urging residents to remain patient as the government intensifies efforts towards project completion.

He highlighted the severe impact of incomplete road infrastructure on daily life, particularly during rainy seasons when access becomes significantly restricted.

“The government’s commitment to reimbursing the contractor underscores their determination to see this project through to completion,” Engr. Balogun emphasized.

“We appeal for swift action to address the hardships faced by our community due to the incomplete road sections.”

In response, the HiTech engineer assured stakeholders that measures to mitigate flooding will be swiftly implemented, including the installation of culverts to manage water flow effectively.

Plans are in place to mobilize equipment and personnel to the site starting Monday, marking the beginning of intensive construction activities aimed at delivering lasting solutions to infrastructure challenges.

As the community anticipates visible progress on the Igbogbo/Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road, residents are encouraged to remain engaged and patient during the construction phase.

AMA reiterated his confidence in HiTech Construction’s capability to deliver on their commitments, promising sustained oversight to ensure project timelines are met and quality standards maintained.

For ongoing updates and inquiries regarding the project’s development, constituents are advised to stay informed through official communication channels.

The collective efforts of government officials, contractors, and community leaders aim to realize significant improvements in infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and quality of life across Ikorodu Constituency II.
