The COVID-19 toll of Lagos state, epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria, has now hit 14,009, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has disclosed.
The agency also disclosed that the country has confirmed six hundred and four COVID-19 cases, with more than quarter of the fresh cases detected in Lagos.
The agency made the disclosure in its daily situation report of COVID-19 on its official twitter on Thursday.
According to the agency, of the 604 new cases, 203 are confirmed in Lagos, Oyo-87, FCT-79, Edo-41, Osun-35, Ogun-24, Rivers-22, Kaduna-22, Akwa Ibom-20, Plateau-18, Delta-9, Ebonyi-9, Imo-8, Enugu-5, Kano-5, Cross River-5, Katsina-4, Nasarawa-3, Borno-2, Ekiti-2, Bauchi-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 38,948, with 16,061 discharged and 833 deaths recorded.
