Lagos Debunks Circulating Number Plate, Licensing Prices, Releases Official Prices

  • The approved prices inclusive of other charges are listed as follows: Blue Number Plates – ₦37,825 Red Number Plates -₦41,300 Change of Ownership Blue Plates P EXCELLENCE – ₦33,825

Following the review of vehicle number plate and licence prices a fortnight ago, Lagos State has alleged that circulation of bogus prices from extortionists.

Consequent upon this development, the government has released official prices to the general public through a communique on Tuesday, (yesterday)

The statement read: “It has come to the notice of the Lagos State Government that after the upward review of Number Plates and Drivers Licence fees by the Joint Tax Board, false and exorbitant Number Plates prices have gone viral on social media, causing confusion and misinterpretation.”

For the avoidance of doubt, therefore, The approved prices inclusive of other charges are listed as follows: Blue Number Plates – ₦37,825 Red Number Plates -₦41,300 Change of Ownership Blue Plates P EXCELLENCE – ₦33,825

Change of Ownership Red Plates – ₦38,300 Fancy Number Plates – ₦210,175, Fancy Plates Conversion- ₦202,050, Fancy Plates Motorcycle – ₦54,000 Out of Series Plates – ₦60,175

Out of Series Conversion- ₦52,050, Loss Plates/Defaced – ₦21,250, Articulated Plates – ₦57,675

Standard Conversion – ₦19,300, Articulated Conversion – ₦41,500, Drivers Licence Fresh/Renewal 3 Years – ₦10,350

Drivers Licence Fresh/Renewal 5 Years – ₦15,450

Lagosians are hereby advised to go to Motor Vehicle Administration Agency’s stations to confirm the real prices before any transaction.
