Eko Hot Blog reports that an illegal settlement was uncovered today beneath Osborne Bridge in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.
Upon discovery, the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) swiftly commenced a clearance operation.
This incident followed yesterday’s report by Eko Hot Blog about an underbridge shelter found at Dolphin Estate Bridge, where 86 rooms and a container were discovered.
The recent focus, however, has shifted to the newly uncovered settlement under Osborne Bridge.
Details of the ongoing clearance efforts were shared on the official Facebook page of Tokunbo Wahab, the Honorable Commissioner for Environment.
The presence of such unauthorized dwellings not only defaces the environment but also raises concerns about public safety and infrastructure integrity.
Despite the challenges involved, authorities remain committed to clearing all illegal settlements across Lagos State.
This latest operation sends a strong message against unlawful habitation in restricted areas.
The swift response from LAGESC highlights the government’s determination to maintain order and prevent further encroachments on public spaces.
