Lagos Digital Party Postponed
Lagos state government has postponed the Lagos Digital Party earlier scheduled to hold on Friday, July 10, 2020, till further notice.
Speaking on why the event was postponed, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture in Lagos, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, explained in a statement on Thursday, that some musicians have shown interest in participating in the event and this will allow more Lagosians to be aware of the event aimed at repositioning the entertainment industry towards achieving a Greater Lagos.
According to her, the show is part of creative innovations by the Ministry to cushion the effect of coronavirus pandemic on its citizens.
“Digital Lagos Party’ has been designed to thrill Lagosians with quality musical vibes from popular Nigeria Deejay, Jimmy Jatt alongside Deejay CONEL.”
“The evening party will be very interactive and fun-filled as participants would also be engaged in brief questions and answers sessions about Lagos under an atmosphere of fun and relaxation,” the commissioner stated.
She said prior to the earlier date, Disc Jockeys was the only musician to feature at the event, but some other musicians have also come to show their interest in the show.
“Some musicians paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry today to express their intention to collaborate with the state government on the Lagos Digital Party in order to make it a bigger event than earlier planned,” Akinbile-Yusuf said.

The commissioner noted with the pandemic there has been new normal, which has also affected the entertainment industry, which is why the ministry designed the event as a way of experimenting.
She, however, said part of the aim of the event was to help people overcome depression by entertaining them virtually, noting that the when the event eventually holds at a later date, it will cheer up residents of the metropolis, rekindle their hope and lift their spirit and soul from boredom occasioned by the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Akinbile-Yusuf expressed regret for any inconvenience which the postponement may have caused Lagosians, especially those who were already looking up to the event, declaring that the virtual party promises to meet the entertainment needs of the populace.
“Yes, I know that the situation out there is tough and very demanding but it is very instructive for us all to know that when there is life, there is hope and as such we should not allow our present circumstance to debar us from the better days that lie ahead,” the Commissioner said.
