Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced that 42 COVID-19 patients had been discharged after testing Negative to the virus.
The Governor disclosed this through the Twitter handle of his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Gboyega Akosile.
Gov. Sanwo-Olu, while disclosing the update on Friday, said the patients were 17 females, 25 males, and ten foreign nationals.

According to him, the patients were discharged in this order, eight from Gbagada, five from Agidingbi, 15 from Eti-Osa (LandMark), six from Onikan, and eight also from Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH isolation centers.
He added that they were discharged to reunite with the society, having recovered and tested negative to the virus
The Governor urged Lagosians to continue following all COVID-19 guidelines as directed by the health sector
He emphasized adherence to the use of face mask, social distancing, and washing of hands.
“Good people of Lagos. Today, 42 #COVID-19 Lagos patients, 17 females and 25 males, including ten foreign nationals, were discharged from our Isolation facilities to reunite with the society.
“The patients; 8 from Gbagada, five from Agidingbi, 15 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) 6 from Onikan and eight from LUTH Isolation Centres were discharged after full recovery and testing negative for COVID-19.
“Remember, it is now a criminal offense in Lagos State to go out without using a face-mask. Let’s continue to adhere strictly to all public advisories given by government #ForACOVID19FreeLagos, ” Sanwo-Olu said.
On the 17th of July 2020, 600 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
Till date, 35454 cases have been confirmed, 14633 cases have been discharged and 772 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory
