Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion along the route of the Alapere pedestrian bridge at Estate Gate, Ketu Alapere on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos.

Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, disclosed the development in a statement Friday evening.

The commissioner said the diversion is to enable the reconstruction of the damaged pedestrian bridge.

Recall that the bridge was damaged in December 2023 as a result of a container-laden truck that tried to manoeuvre under the bridge bearing a load that was far beyond the provided headroom.
