The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Tokunbo Abiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of Lagos east bye-election.
According to the electoral body, Abiru, who won all the five local governments in the senatorial district, garnered a total of 89, 204 votes to emerge winner of the December 5 polls.
The APC candidate victory is landslide as he defeated his rival Babatunde Gbadamosi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by margin of 77,947 votes.
The main opposition party and its candidate, Gbadamosi, secured 11, 257 votes.
