Emirates Airlines has resumed operations in Lagos, landing at Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) on Tuesday, marking its return after a two-year suspension.
The airline halted flights due to several unresolved issues, including trapped funds.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Flight EK 783 touched down at the old terminal of MMIA at exactly 3:32 PM, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER. Observers noted that the flight arrived with several empty seats.
Although the exact number of passengers on board could not be immediately confirmed, numerous travelers indicated that the flight was not full.
At MMIA, departing passengers were processed at the new terminal, while returning passengers arrived via the old terminal. The Boeing 777-300ER has a maximum capacity of 392 passengers.
One passenger remarked, “The flight was not full at all, but as usual, the services were very good. I think this is understandable, being the first flight after many years.”
Emirates’ return to Lagos signifies a significant step in reestablishing international travel connections and enhancing service offerings in the region.
