Lagos Fire Service Gives Update On Casualty Figure After Tanker Fire Destroys 11 Vehicles At Iganmu Bridge

Eko Hot Blog reports that a tanker caught fire at the Lagos Quadrapont Bridge, near the National Arts Theater, Iganmu, on Thursday evening.

In a statement, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret, disclosed that the Sari Iganmu and Ilupeju Fire crews combined efforts to tame the raging fire.

Margaret said the fire crews curtailed the raging fire on Thursday night, allowing for investigation to reveal the cause of the fire and the evacuation of the carcass to bring about normalcy to scene.

Although the fire started with one tanker, it spread to 10 other vehicles that were destroyed.

Overall, the fire affected 11 vehicles, including 2 tankers, 1 tipper truck, 3 trailers, 3 cars, and 2 mini buses (korope).

However, there was no casualty or injury recorded as occupants of the vehicles escaped unhurt according to the fire service boss.
