Lagos: GAC Leader Prince Olusi Receives Honorary Doctorate, President Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu Praise His Mentorship

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and Chairman of the Governors Advisory Council, GAC, in Lagos State, Prince Hon Dr Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi recently received an Honorary Doctor of Literature (History, Education and Community Development), Honoris Causa from Lagos State University.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that the award was in recognition of his contributions to public service and community development.

Prince Olusi, who is the Convener, Yoruba Leaders of Thought, bagged the honour at the 27th Convocation Ceremony grand finale of the institution.

On Tuesday at Oriental Hotel, Lagos, friends and family organised a dinner reception to celebrate the achievement of Prince Olusi.

In his goodwill message, President Bola Tinubu, lauded Prince Olusi as a mentor who has shaped many generations of political leaders.

President Tinubu’s message was delivered during a reception dinner in Victoria Island, Lagos, honoring Prince Olusi for receiving an Honorary Doctorate in Literature in History, Education, and Community Development from Lagos State University.

Speaking on behalf of the President, Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Tunde Rahman, highlighted Prince Olusi’s tireless dedication to his community and Lagos State, describing him as a source of wisdom.

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in her message, called Prince Olusi “Mr Consistent” for his wisdom and  support for progressive leadership.

On his part, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sawno-Olu, described the gathering as a ”fitting tribute to a man whose legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations.”

The Governor noted that the celebrant had been a leader in various political parties for about sixty years and was worth celebrating.

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that Prince Olusi has been a leader in various political parties for nearly sixty years, making him truly deserving of celebration. 

Prince Olusi, 87, has a distinguished political career, having served as a councilor, a member of the House of Representatives, and the Lagos State Chairman of both the Social Democratic Party and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

He later held the position of National Vice Chairman of the ACN.

Dignitaries at the event included the Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, Chief Mudashiru Obasa, along with other state and national lawmakers, associates, and family members of the celebrant.
