A member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Akanni Seriki, has reiterated the support of Epe people to the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

In an interview with EKO HOT BLOG after the 8th day fidau prayer of Alhaja Mulikat Onibon at Epe waterfront, Seriki lauded the developmental strides and sterling performance of Sanwo-Olu despite the myriad of challenges that betide the state.

He noted that the governor is on course for re-election as that will enable him to build on his first term success.

“I am the happiest person because despite the numerous challenges experienced in Lagos, especially COViD pandemic and Endsars protests, Governor Sanwo-Olu has proved to be more than capable to surmount them. All of us are happy and I want to assure him that Epe is 100% with him.
I hope and pray that the Governor would emerge for second term in office so that he would consolidate on his sterling performance”, Alhaji Seriki stated.

On the road reconstruction works ongoing along the Eleko-Epe axis, the Apase of Epe land implored contractors working on the project to put palliative measures in place which would make the road accessible to road users, especially now that the rainy season is fast approaching. He, however, urged road users and residents to exercise patience and cooperate maximally with contractors so that the road would be delivered within the stipulated time.

“We have a God-sent Governor who is ready to cater for his people especially in Epe. I pray for him every blessed morning because I’m surprised that he has made adequate provisions for the road to be reconstructed.

On getting support and cooperation from road users and residents living in the communities where the road construction is taking place, he stated that “Epe is not so bad, we know our “good boys” and how to curtail them. We will make sure we continue to engage, advise and enlighten them to make the construction works seamless”

With regard to the suspended re-delineation bill of the Lagos State House of Assembly, which sought to merge Eti-Osa with Epe Division, he stated that his position on the issue aligns with the consensus of Epe stakeholders, leaders of thought and traditional leaders in Epe who converged to denounce the bill in a press conference.

However, he appealed for more patronage from the Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration of Lagos State, which he said is capable of improving the socio-economic condition of the good people of Epe.

“Whatever the good people of Epe says is my position. We don’t want that, they should leave us here. To bring Eti-Osa people here, they will match, smash and submerge us. So, let them stay there and leave us alone with the little we have.
All what we need is adequate patronage from the Government to develop the town” Bamu stated.
