EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Vedic Lifecare Hospital located at Plot 6, Olabanji Olajide Street, Lekki, has been shut down by the Lagos State Government.
The hospital was shut by the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) for employing uncertified expatriates.
According to the HEFAMAA Executive Secretary, Dr. Abiola Idowu, the facility was shut down “for engaging three foreign doctors and a nurse with unverified certificates and without licenses from any professional body”.

She, however, stated that the closure does not affect the in-patients already admitted.
Idowu added that the Agency is aware that some facilities are engaging Foreign-Based Transient Medical Doctors (FBTMD) who treat patients, perform medical procedures and leave the country after a few weeks/months.
Also speaking, the Chairman, HEFAMAA Governing Board, Dr. Yemisi Solanke-Koya, noted that there will be continuous regulatory oversight of hospitals in Lagos State.
