EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Lagos State Government has announced the commencement of the rehabilitation of the failed section of Iyana-Era Road and the construction of a 20-metre bridge, just as it informed that traffic would be diverted in the axis from midnight of Friday, September 24, 2021, for a period of 12 months.
This was made known via a statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, on Wednesday.
Oladeinde noted that the construction is vital to addressing the factors responsible for the rapid and frequent deterioration of that section of the road, stressing that the portions before and after the existent culverts had submerged into the surrounding swam, hence the need for a bridge.
The commissioner added that motorists heading towards Shibiri, Ajangbadi and Igbogbo axis will be diverted at Era-Adaloko Roundabout into a contraflow on the Badagry bound lane to minimise inconveniences during the course of the repairs.
